Lorin Jensen, PE

SENIOR ENGINEER
LinkedIn

Lorin was born and raised on the Oregon coast, in Tillamook, known for its famous creamery.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University. Go Beavers! Upon graduation, Lorin worked throughout the world for a variety of contractors, including Hawaii Dredging and Construction, Marchetti Construction and Dillingham Construction. In Southern California, he worked on the remodel of the Disneyland Hotel, as well as the world-famous Biltmore Hotel in Downtown LA.

While working for Dillingham Construction, Lorin was sent oversees to manage U.S. embassy and consulate projects for the State Department. Do not let his quite demeanor fool you, Lorin has traveled the world in service of our country, including Southern Africa, Latin Americas, various European nations and the former Soviet Union. We have been told at one point he carried three different types of passports and routinely ran ultra marathons. It was at one of these overseas assignments, in Maseru, Lesotho, Southern Africa, that he met his lovely wife, Tina. The story is that she shoved him out of the way to get to the embassy copy machine first, and it was love at first sight.  Of course, she still denies it 35 years later.

His last overseas assignment was to execute improvements to the consulate in Leningrad (St. Petersburg today). After which he left overseas construction work and joined the City of Berkeley as a project engineer. There is ongoing debate at the office as to whether this was a witness protection placement!

Lorin rose through the ranks at the City of Berkeley, retiring as a Supervising Civil Engineer in 2015. He joined Pakpour Consulting Group that same year, serving as construction and project manager for various infrastructure projects throughout the Tri-Valley area. His construction and municipal experiences are highly valued by our clients.

Lorin is great with a sharp blade and loves woodworking. We have not figured out how he became so good at handling sharp knives. He has won numerous awards for his wood carving at local and state competitions. He looks forward to his Friday date nights with his lovely wife, Tina. Lorin also volunteers as Santa Claus during the holidays and has had his white beard pulled too many times to count.
